Posting

Well now you are ready to dive in and start posting messages. Below will be explanations on how to make new topics, reply to topics, and make poll topics.

Making a New Topic

To make a new topic browse to an area of the board and click on the ‘New Topic’ button and you’ll be taken to the ‘new topic’ screen. Once there you will see a bunch of boxes to type things in.

-         Subject: This will be the title of the topic you are creating.

-         Description: Here you can add a description of the topic.

-         Message Icon: Here you can select the message icon which will appear next to your topic in the topic menu.

-         Message: Here you will type in the first post of the new topic in which you may use YaBBC tags and smilies which are selectable above ‘Message’ box.

-         Now listening to: Here you may enter the title of a song you or something you might be listening to at the moment.

-         Notify of replies: Check this if you wish to be e-mailed every time someone posts in your topic.

Once you are done making your topic you can post it by clicking on the ‘Post’ button at the bottom. Or if you wish you can preview what it will look like by clicking on the ‘Preview’ button.

Making a Poll Topic

If enabled you may also make poll topics instead of regular topics. Poll topics allow the creator to get peoples opinions by giving them options to vote on as well as make posts. To make a poll topic click on the ‘New Poll’ button from there you will be taken to a screen similar to the ‘new topic’ screen. Making a poll topic is very similar to making a regular topic except that you have to enter 1 to 8 options which will be what members will vote on as well as a poll question.
